What is JumpStart all about?

JumpStart is Wong Venture Partners’ internship program. JumpStart provides the brightest and most entrepreneurial students from selected M.B.A. schools an opportunity to work with one of Wong Venture Partners’ affiliated companies.

Who can apply?

JumpStart is open to all M.B.A. candidates from a select group of U.S. business schools and some of the finest business schools outside of the U.S.

How do I apply?

Send a cover letter and a resume to jumpstart@wongventurepartners.com stating what your interests are and how you are going to contribute for success.

What is the application process for JumpStart?

The JumpStart application process consists of 2 steps:

• Step 1: Send your cover letter and resume to jumpstart@wongventurepartners.com

• Step 2: Phone interview with a partner of Wong Venture Partners.

Is there a deadline for submitting my application?

No. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Some M.B.A. programs finish in May, while others finish in June. Do you accommodate differing academic schedules?

Yes. Each chosen applicant will participate in JumpStart according to his/her own academic schedule.

Do I have to commit to JumpStart for the entire term?

Yes. All participating applicants must commit to JumpStart for the entire term.

Do I work for Wong Venture Partners or for one of its portfolio startups?

You will be working with either WVP or its portfolio companies.

What types of companies are involved?

Wong Venture Partners’ affiliated companies consist of media, Internet services, software, and wireless sectors.

Do I get to choose the type of company I work for?

Each applicant will have the opportunity to select a preferred sector and department within a company. Wong Venture Partners will make every effort to accommodate each accepted candidate’s first choice of technology sector and area of expertise. However, WVP cannot guarantee that a candidate’s first choice will be met.

Where are these companies located?

The majority of Wong Venture Partners’ portfolio companies are located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Will I be assured of working on a specific project for the term of my internship?

We have selected companies that have specific projects for the entire program. However, startup environments are dynamic in nature. While you will focus on one project, understand that you will likely be involved in many others.

Will I be provided with a place to live or transportation while participating in the JumpStart Program?

No. You will be responsible for all personal expenses and living arrangements.

Will I have to sign a non-disclosure agreement (N.D.A.) with my employer?

Candidates who accept the terms of JumpStart, and choose to participate in the program, may be required by their employer to sign a non-disclosure agreement (N.D.A.) before beginning work. Employers will make this decision based upon their company's policies.
